That’s why SpartanNash is a cut above the rest.This position is located at Harrison Family FarePosition SummaryTo become skilled at cutting meat and preparing related products in the variety, size, quality, and trim prescribed by company and department standards per the Meat Apprentice Program under direction of a meat cutter, may also act as a meat clerk; to ensure that the work shift contributes to the financial best interests of the store. Complete all other duties as assigned in a timely manner.Minimum Requirements Job Experience Supervisory Experience NONEResponsibilities and Essential DutiesCut and weigh steaks, chops, etc. for individual servings; Produce 'value-added' products per established guidelinesPractice suggestive selling techniques with customersCut, trim, and bone carcass sections or prime cuts to reduce to cooking cuts; Follow established recipes to grind and tray meats and make sausage and other productsPrice, date, wrap and/or bag meat products per established guidelines using department scalesProperly fill, rotate and merchandise shelves, cases, displays, and coolers/freezersNotify the Meat Manager if products and supplies need to be orderedReceives, unloads, and stocks merchandiseHave familiarity with all products carried in the department; know differences in price, taste, preparation, use etc.Handle spoiled/damaged products per established guidelinesMaintain a clean, attractive and well stocked departmentThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and levels of work being performed as assigned for this job.
