SMX is seeking a Cyber / IT Systems Apprentice to be part of our Information Technology Team supporting NAWCAD at Patuxent River, MD. The position encompasses tasks to support the research into fundamental computer, network, software, and IT systems including hardware, software, and security.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform research in support of solutions and/or mitigations to computer, network, software issues

• Conduct research into cyber events, threats, adversarial offensive and defensive tools, techniques, and methods

• Conduct research into mitigation solutions and strategies to cyber security issues

• Research cyber vulnerabilities and threats

• Research architecture and infrastructure problems and new technology

Required Skills:

• Clearance Required: Top Secret, none to start. The applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

• Must be able to interact with peers, management, and senior engineers in a constantly evolving environment to ensure a positive customer experience and atmosphere in the workplace.

• Less than 3 years of related experience

Desired Skills:

• Past DoD IT experience

• Security+ certification
