Role Summary

We have a fantastic opportunity for individuals to join us here as an apprentice at GE Power Conversion. You will join an Advanced Apprenticeship Programme in our Manufacturing Department, working closely with other members in the manufacturing department and the wider operations team. This is an excellent opportunity to work along experienced staff to gain job-specific knowledge from their expertise, earn money whilst attaining a recognised qualification and improve skills and technical knowledge in a wide range of areas.

Essential responsibilities

Our apprentices follow a four-year training scheme, the first of which is spent off the job at Warwickshire College, Rugby. During this year, the successful candidate can expect to gain a thorough grounding in the key areas required for a career in modern engineering before returning to Power Conversion.

The following three years will consist of practical training in various manufacturing and engineering disciplines across all process elements. This presents an excellent opportunity to develop hands on skills and begin a career in rotating electrical machines.

The successful candidates will be closely linked to a course of study which will, at a minimum lead to the attainment of a NVQ Level 3 qualification.

Key skills

  • Successful candidates will have/be expecting to receive a minimum of a grade 5 or above in English, Maths and a science or technology-based subject.
