Principal Duties As an Apprentice Maintenance Specialist,you will:

  • Work independently and with journey-level employees on maintenance projects.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems.
  • Repair and/or perform preventative maintenance on buildings.
  • Paint,finish and refinish wood,metal and other materials.
  • Weld,solder,braze,and/or grind various materials.
  • Build,fabricate,or repair structures from verbal instructions,blueprints and/or working drawings.
  • Provide technical consultation to originators of project job orders,including development of project plans and related estimates.

The Best Qualified Candidate The best qualified candidate for this position will have:

  • Experience in building/facility maintenance.
  • Experience in one or more of the following:
    • plumbing
    • electrical
    • welding
    • painting
    • construction
    • hand tools
    • power tools
