Providence St. Joseph Health Medical Assistant Apprentice in Seattle, Washington

Description The Medical Assistant (MA) Apprentice is entering into a WA DOL registered Apprenticeship program with Swedish Medical Group, in conjunction with InReach Career Pathways and Washington Association of Community Health (WACH). This position functions under the supervision of a Certified Medical Assistant preceptor and within the scope of practice that the MA-C preceptor has determined is appropriate based upon the education and skills requirements of the WACH Apprentice Program; and, as defined by the Washington Administrative Code (WAC). Medical Assistant Apprentices are responsible for providing direct patient care and will practice up to the skills learned and approved to practice through the Apprentice program guidelines. MA Apprentices will apply current healthcare concepts and assist with routine or general clinical responsibilities that may contribute directly and indirectly to patient care under the supervision of the MA-C or Provider. Medical Assistant Apprentice for Swedish Medical Group (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) Cohort Start Date: April 22nd, 2024 Candidates must be able to start with the Cohort on April 22nd May work up to the documented level of academic and clinical competence accomplished in the individual's Apprenticeship program. The Apprentice is expected to complete the 2,000 hours of clinical practice under the guidance of the MA Preceptor, 410 hours of coursework (unpaid), 3 skills labs (unpaid) and participate in all required apprenticeship activities. Successful completion of the Apprentice program and the national MA-C certification test, in conjunction with remaining an employee in good standing, will qualify Apprentices for entry into the regular job classification as an MA-C.
